Kathleen McDonald, LCSW
Kathleen McDonald, LCSW, brings authentic empathy, deep clinical training, and just the right amount of humor to her work with clients. She specializes in supporting emerging adults (ages 20–35) navigating anxiety, panic, perfectionism, trauma, and PTSD.
Kathleen’s approach is grounded in curiosity and respect for each client’s inner wisdom. She listens closely—without judgment—and works at your pace, adapting to your feedback as you test new ideas, insights, and skills. She believes therapy should feel both safe and collaborative, where you're not only understood but also gently challenged in ways that promote growth. And when the timing is right, she knows how powerful a bit of well-placed humor can be in lightening the load.
As a trauma-informed clinician, Kathleen is trained in EMDR and integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, somatic practices, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing. Her work focuses on helping clients shift the patterns that no longer serve them—adapting thoughts and behaviors, regulating emotions, and stepping into the version of themselves that feels most aligned and free.
Clients describe Kathleen as insightful, warm, and refreshingly real. Her sessions offer space for honesty, self-discovery, and meaningful change—with a few laughs along the way.
